John Nahabedian is the founder and CEO of Stellar Science and Informatics, LLC. John's journey in the field of science and public health began at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta GA, where he earned his B.S. in Biology. During his time at Georgia Tech, John distinguished himself academically by making the Dean's List and earning a Research Certificate through his Honors Thesis. During his undergraduate years, John also worked in experimental pathology at Emory University under the guidance of Dr. Guy Benian, Ph.D., where he contributed to and published research in muscular genetics.
Following his undergraduate degree, John pursued a Master’s in Pathobiology at the University of Washington, Seattle WA, where he worked closely with Dr. Julie Overbaugh, a renowned HIV scientist and virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. His master’s thesis, which was published in a leading virology journal, explored critical aspects of HIV research, further solidifying his expertise in virology and public health.
John’s professional career took a decisive turn when he began working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Over the past 12 years, he has served as a Microbiologist, Senior Epidemiologist, Data Specialist, Project Manager, and Developer. John has made diverse contributions to the CDC, working in complex laboratory settings and participating in high-pressure emergency response efforts for the COVID-19 and Zika virus outbreaks. He has managed critical data systems, developed innovative data tools, and collaborated on numerous publications in top-tier journals and CDC reports.
Beyond his professional achievements, John is a devoted family man. His wife and daughter are his top priority, and he cherishes the time he spends with them and their beloved animals, including chickens, ducks, and a rabbit.
